Star Wars The Mandalorian season 3 will debut on the Disney+ streaming platform on 16th February 2023.
The trailer gives us a sneak peek of what’s to come as the adventures of Mando and Grogu continue. Look out for Babu Frik, a tiny space mechanic last seen in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker! Blink and you might miss him
The Mandalorian season 3 completed filming over a 6-month period on the 31st of March 2022. Since then it has been in post-production.
Although nothing has been announced, The Mandalorian Season 3 will consist of eight episodes once again following in the steps of the first two seasons.
Pedro Pascal is, as you would expect back as The Mandalorian, also known as Din Djarin, the bounty hunter who was adopted into the Mandalorian culture as a youngling after his parents were slaughtered in the Clone Wars.
Grogu also returns, which undoubtedly means that your local Disney Store will stock even more of the adorable Jedi Padawan’s stuff. But how will his Jedi powers develop in the absence of Luke Skywalker?
Giancarlo Esposito, who plays the menacing Moff Gideon, the show’s major antagonist, returns. Is there going to be a redemption arc for this character or will the dark side take him on a journey to destroy Grogu or will he face death now that he has been captured?
Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), the guild leader of the bounty hunters, and tenacious mechanic Peli Motto (Amy Sedaris) will both also be back for the third season. The Armorer (Emily Swallow), a weapons master and authority on “The Mandalorian way,” is back to give Mando some sage advice and even better weaponry, as the trailer makes clear.
The intriguing addition of Back to the Future actor Christopher Lloyd to the roster in an unnamed role is exciting.
A big part of The Mandalorian season three’s story remains unknown, other than what we’ve seen in the teaser.
It is undecided whether Moff Gideon will face the death penalty or life in jail for his actions after being apprehended at the conclusion of season two. He might flee and keep looking for Grogu, or he might switch to the good side of the force.
Grogu previously choose to reunite with Din Djarin rather than learn the Jedi techniques with Luke Skywalker, but it won’t stop his force talents from developing. Will he be able to master them without a Jedi mentor’s guidance?
The Mandalorian’s fourth season is currently in production but won’t air until 2024. There is one thing for certain and that is this Star Wars story has a planned ending and a limited number of seasons to complete it in. What we do not know as yet is just how many seasons will we get before the end.
