Amazon’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Power of the Rings” delves into original narratives that take place before the events of Peter Jackson’s, “The Fellowship of the Ring” movie, and is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth.  The series is a prequel, to JRR Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.

An ensemble cast of characters, both well-known and unknown, are followed in this epic drama that is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” as they face the long-feared return of evil to Middle-earth.
